PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester resin suitable for a latently crimpable polyester conjugated fiber for providing a spun yarn, a woven fabric, a knitted fabric and a nonwoven fabric having excellent latent crimping property, stretchability, feeling and elastic recovery, and a latently crimpable polyester conjugated fiber comprising the polyester resin as one constituent component.;SOLUTION: The polyester resin for a latently crimpable fiber comprises 1-8 mol.% of isophthalic acid in an acid component constituting the polyester resin consisting essentially of an ethylene terephthalate unit and 1-12 mol.% of an alkylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone in a glycol component and has 0.58-0.80 intrinsic viscosity.
