PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selecting a drug and/or a drug metabolite, effectively utilized in a method for collecting and obtaining the drug metabolite produced by a microorganism from a liquid medium, that is, a method, or the like, for obtaining the drug metabolite from the liquid medium after cultivation in high collecting rate.;SOLUTION: This method for selecting the drug and/or the drug metabolite which is a substrate to be effectively utilized in the method for producing the drug metabolite from the substrate for a drug metabolizing enzyme by the microorganism having the drug metabolizing ability in the liquid medium, and collecting the produced drug metabolite from the liquid medium is provided. The method selects the drug and/or the drug metabolite which is the substrate in a period for producing the drug metabolite from the drug which is the substrate of the drug metabolizing enzyme in a pH range from the initial pH value to the finally arrival pH value so that a water-octanol distribution coefficient (log D) of the drug and/or the drug metabolite which is the substrate may not be a negative value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
