PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance adjustability in a sucking port and to miniaturize a vacuum cleaner.;SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner is provided with a sucking port main body 24 which is long in a left and right direction and short in a front and rear direction concerning a plane shape, an absorbing port 29 arranged on the lower surface of the sucking port main body 24, a communication pipe 39 which communicates with the absorbing port 29 and with a sucking chamber 24a which is arranged inside the main body 24, a flexible hose 22 where one end communicates with the communication pipe 39 and the suction force of the motor-driven blower works at the other end and an operation rod 30 where a handle is arranged at one end and the other end is freely rotatably attached to the sucking port main body 24. The communication pipe 39 and the operation rod 30 are separately arranged in the longitudinal direction of the sucking port main body 24 so as to perform arrangement by saving space.
