PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cholesterol measuring method applicable to various autoanalyzers without carrying out the pretreatment of a specimen such as centrifugal separation and electrophoresis and improving the simplicity, specificity and precision.;SOLUTION: The method for the measurement of cholesterol in a low-density lipoprotein by enzymatic reaction comprises the 1st reaction to preferentially eliminate cholesterol in high-density lipoprotein, ultra-low-density lipoprotein and chylomicron in the specimen in a reaction liquid containing a chemically modified or unmodified cholesterol esterase, a chemically modified or unmodified cholesterol oxidase and a substance to inhibit the reaction of these substances with low-density lipoprotein, and the 2nd reaction to add a substance to reduce or eliminate the inhibiting actions of both enzymes in the 1st reaction on cholesterol in the low-density lipoprotein to the reaction liquid.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
