PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fiber bundle of a carbon fiber precursor by which proper interlacement uniform in the longitudinal and radial directions is imparted to the fiber bundle of the carbon fiber precursor, and further to provide a method for producing the carbon fiber bundle capable of facilitating the following opening, with good operation stability. ;SOLUTION: The interlacement is imparted to the fiber bundle of the carbon fiber precursor by using an interlacement-imparting device (i) having a fluid-jetting chamber (3), a sealed chambers (4, 5) arranged at the front and the back of the fluid-jetting chamber (3), and having plural whirlpools generated therein, and an ejector (6) installed in the outlet of the back sealed chamber (5). The inner diameter D (mm) of the fluid- jetting chamber (3) is regulated so as to satisfy the inequality T/800DT/80 (wherein, T is the total size of the fiber bundles), and the length L (mm) of the jetting chamber (3) is regulated so as to satisfy the inequality 0.3L/D30. The flow rate Q (m3/min) of the fluid per single fiber bundle is set within the range of 0.5 tQ4.3 t, and the tension G (g/tex) of the fiber bundle is set within the range of 0.2G1.5. The carbon fiber bundle is produced by forming the fiber bundle of the carbon fiber precursor having imparted interlacement into the flameproof one, and carbonizing the flameproof fiber bundle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
