According to the present invention, it was revealed that suppression of transcriptional activation by NFκB suppresses alveolar bone resorption in a periodontal disease model and promotes alveolar bone repair in a periodontal disease bone defect model. Therefore, the present invention provides a therapeutic, preventive, and ameliorating agent for periodontal disease containing an active ingredient that suppresses transcriptional activity of NFκB such as NFκB decoy, and alveolar bone defect caused by surgery.
