PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve earthquake resistance without increasing sectional size of a damper and an RC rigid frame structure.;SOLUTION: A lower structure 1 of a viaduct is formed of the RC rigid frame structure 4 including a pair of bridge pier-like posts 2, 2 erected in opposite positions and a beam 3 stretched between the tops of the posts, an inverted- V shaped eccentric brace member 5 disposed in the plane of the RC rigid frame structure with both ends thereof connected near the middle positions of the posts 2, 2 by pins, and a hysteretic damping shearing damper 6 interposed between the upper end of the inverted-V shaped eccentric brace member and the beam 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
