PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved molding method and a device for molding a container of a thermoplastic material, in particular, a bottle having a petaloid bottom.;SOLUTION: In the method for producing the container 2 of the thermoplastic material having the petaloid bottom 4, the container is produced by stretch-blow molding a high temperature preform 16 in a blowing molding mold, the blowing molding mold has a petaloid mold bottom 1, the mold bottom 1 has a plurality of radial directional ridges 13 and a plurality of cavities 11, the end portion 20 of the preform 16 extends over the bottom 18 of the preform 16 during an extending step.
