PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To communicate phone directory data readily without requiring a special operation even when they are communicated after altered. PSOLUTION: The telephone unit as a master unit A having phone directory data including telephone numbers and destination information independently from a slave unit B alters the content of the phone directory data and transfers the altered data to the slave B. The telephone unit comprises an RAM 12 for storing telephone numbers before altered, and a CPU 10 as a means for transferring the telephone numbers before altered to the slave unit B along with the altered data.
