PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transition metal complex used as a component of a catalyst.;SOLUTION: This transition metal complex is expressed by formula (I) [M is a group 4 transition metal; A is a group 16 element; B is a group 14 element; R1, R2, R3, and R4 are each selected from a group (I) comprising H, an alkyl, an arkyl, an aralkyl, a substituted silyl, an alkoxy or the like and a group (II) comprising a thio which is substituted by a 1-20C substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group; H, an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl, a substituted silyl, an alkoxy or the like, provided that at least one of R1, R2, R3, and R4 is selected from the group (II), and any two of R1, R2, R3, and R4 which are adjacent to each other may arbitrarily combine with each other to form a ring; R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, and R10 are each H, a halogen, an alkyl, an alkoxy or the like, provided that any two of R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, and R10 which are adjacent to each other may arbitrarily combine with each other to form a ring; and ; X1 and X2 are each H, a halogen, an alkyl or the like; and n is 0 or 1].;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
