PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball end mill machining super hard material by a small diameter ball end mill, and obtaining finished surfaces roughness while keeping accuracy.;SOLUTION: In the small diameter ball end mill of not more than 3 mm, in a normal direction cross sectional view of a tip end portion of the ball end mill, an angle of edge portion wall thickness defined by a reference line of a normal and a first flank is made to be not less than 85° and less than 90°.
