PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pincer type metal complex catalyst which actualizes more excellent catalytic revolution as a catalyst for a reaction for forming a carbon-carbon bond and a pincer type metal complex to become the catalyst and to provide a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: The pincer type metal complex has a bond between one carbon atom constituting an aromatic ring and a transition metal and constitution that polycyclic substituent groups composed of condensed heterocyclic rings are bonded to two ortho carbon atoms of the aromatic ring, positioned at the ortho positions relatively to a carbon atom bonded to the transition metal. The polycyclic substituent groups contain each at least one heterocyclic structure in which at least one atom constituting a ring skeleton is a nitrogen atom and the nitrogen atom is coordinated with the transition metal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
