PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support apparatus capable of grasping easily geometry of track ahead of a car, information of precedence traveling motions, by a driver and cognizing instanteneously conditions of the aforementioned track.;SOLUTION: The driving support apparatus comprises a storage means 12 for storing map information consisting of three dimensions information, a displaying unit 1 for displaying the aforementioned map information, a GPS radiowave receiving section 11 for detecting the present location of the own car, and a control means 14 for indicating a course of the aforementioned own car on the displaying unit 1 after reading out the aforementioned map information based on the current position of the aforementioned own car detected from the GPS radiowave receiving section 11. At the control means 14, the geocentric coordinate P1 of the own car position is computed on the basis of the position information from the GPS radiowave receiving section 11, the view point reference coordinate P2 is computed on the basis of this geocentric coordinate P1 and the earth centered coordinate P0 of the own car position, and then the geometry of track concerning to the aforementioned course in the travelling direction of the aforementioned own car from this view point reference coordinate P2 is displayed via the displaying unit 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
