Embodiments of a multi-radio platform (MRP) and method for coordinating activities between a broadband wireless access network (BWAN) transceiver and a co-located transceiver are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the BWAN transceiver includes a MRP coexistence controller that generates a co-located coexistence (CLC) request message in response to a request from the co-located transceiver for transmission to a BWAN base station to reserve time for communications by the co-located transceiver. The CLC request message may include parameters for a requested CLC class.
