The system has a primary detecting device (3) with a detection unit (4) for detecting presence of a courier in a mailbox (1), and a secondary detecting device (10) with a reception unit for receiving a signal (7) indicating presence of the courier. A reinitilaization unit (14) resets a signal indicating unit (13) into its basic state. The primary device has a control unit (20) activating an emitting unit (5) to send another signal (17) indicating automatic resetting of the indicating unit into its basic state to the reception unit of the secondary device. An independent claim is also included for a mailbox comprising a door moved between a closed position and an open position.
