Semi-solid compositions comprising metaflumizone, a gelling agent and a non-aqueous solvent are disclosed. The semisolid compositions of this invention may be administered topically to animals and are useful in preventing or treating ectoparasitic infestations in warm-blooded animals for extended periods of time.
