The present invention relates to a process for obtaining magnetic ionic liquids (LIM), whose compositions are stable to aggregation or flocculation in the absence and presence of a magnetic field.This material is of dispersions of magnetic nanoparticles (maguemita ( - sym sym Fe sym ) and ferrite type MFE sym sym , (M = Co, Mn, Cu, Zn) in an ionic liquid as the liquid carreador.The stability of the system is afforded by pretreatment of magnetic nanoparticles, leading to changes in its surface which allow obtaining simplified compositions, free of additives and stabilizers, dispersants, and surfactants.In addition, the characteristics presented by the LIM obtained, such as high thermal stability, good conductivity and low vapour pressure are useful in its employment in systems of magnetic seals used in ultra high vacuum systems or space probes or other elements for PES Quisas space.
