System for recognition of hand gestures using machine vision applied to interacting with handheld devices. This proposal for a patent for invention proposes a system of recognition of gestures made by hand to make the control functionality in portable devices as an alternative to man / machine interaction.The method that implements the system of interaction involves capturing a sequence of images, the segmentation of the hand existing in the images, the tracking of movements made by the hand; and the recognition of gestures. The system can recognize both dynamic and static gestures made by hand.The method developed for the implementation of the system and computacionalmente efficiently, which allows to be used in devices with low processing power.
