This patent relates to the field of human interaction with mobile electronic communication devices, and uses computer vision and pattern recognition techniques in its implementation. An innovative computational process is proposed which comprises the automatic detection of objects and the tracking of their movement within a sequence of digital images. It can be used in low-processing devices, notably digital cameras, which may or may not be embedded in cell phones and PDAs.
