Machine for cutting string-shaped foods into slices as well as cutting process

The machine has a feed device (1) with which a goods strand is conveyed from a supply region to a cutting plane. A cutting device has a cutting unit that is rotatable in the plane. Plates are conveyed from the cutting plane by an evacuation device. The cutting unit is arranged between two guiding devices (6V) that are limited by sides lying opposite to the cutting unit. The thickness of one of the guiding devices that lie in a feed direction (3) behind the cutting unit, in which opposite lying sections form a counter blade, is smaller than 5 millimeters. An independent claim is also included for a method for cutting a strand-shaped food in to slices and for automatic arranging the cut slices.
