The invention relates to a method for removing acid gas from pressurized natural gas that is contaminated with sulfur compounds. The natural gas that is to be desulfurized is first directed into an acid gas absorption stage where the sulfur components and other optional components are absorbed by means of a physically active solution, the absorbate is heated, the absorbate is fed into a high pressure flash stage where the obtained mixture of depleted in the acid gas absorbing agent and desorbed acid gas is separated, the desorbed acid gas is chilled and the evaporated absorbing agent is condensed out of the acid gas flow, the pressure in the high pressure flash stage is adjusted to a level at which the desorbed acid gas can be condensed out by means of cooling water or cooling air, depleted in the acid gas absorbing agent from the high pressure flash stage is stripped of leftover acid gases by means of stripping gas in a gas stripping stage, and the obtained absorbing agent is chilled and is redirected into the acid gas absorption stage in the recycle.
