The present invention relates to the method of identification of BMP-9 analogues useful in as antihyperglycaemic agent and appetite suppressant and for treatment of type 2 diabetes, obesity and related metabolic syndromes such as dyslipidaemia and visceral adiposity. The present invention also provides for a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting hyperglycaemic agents and appetite comprising a pharmaceutically effective amount of BMP9 analogue and a method of treatment of obesity, related metabolic syndromes.
