A METHOD OF DYNAMIC AUTO-CONFIGURATION OF MOBILE AD HOC NETWORK NODES AS DHCPV6 RELAY AGENT FOR AUTO-CONFIGURATION

In order to communicate among themselves and with devices on the Internet, Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) nodes need to configure their network interface(s) with globally routable IP address(es). In MANET, nodes spontaneously form network, where each node can reach not only nodes in its direct transmission range, but also distant nodes, accessible through one or more intermediate nodes i.e. MANET is a multi-hop network. MANET often consists of mobile devices with wireless interfaces. Because of node mobility and wireless interface characteristics, the paths to a particular destination changes over time with a considerably higher frequency than in infrastructure networks. Thus, any address auto-configuration mechanism for MANET needs to consider these properties. The proposed algorithm is related to IPv6 address auto-configuration of MANET nodes using DHCPv6. DHCPv6 is Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) defined standard for address auto-configuration of classical Internet nodes. Figure 3
