This invention relates to an improved technology for the detoxification of Jatropha cake comprising. Sequential extraction of Jatropha cake with petroleum ether, n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl alcohol and water at various temperature ranging 37 to 70 °C depending on the boiling point of the particular solvent used for extraction.
