This invention relates to a process for detecting and measuring the partial discharge occurring in electrical insulations that are present in power appliances operating at high voltage. Such power appliances include cables and bushings, but not limited to, where the insulation material contain voids and/or dissimilar dielectric materials. In particular, the invention relates to a process for detecting partial discharge occurring in electrical insulations. The process implements a non-destructive and non-invasive technique for the measurement in an integrated system. The system incorporates interconnected hardware modules that operate under appropriate software instructions for digital processing to extract the relevant data.
