A camshaft including a rotational angle detection object formed integrally on an outer periphery portion thereof is cast using a first casting mold (14) and a second casting mold (15). The first casting mold (14) includes a formation surface (14a) continuing from a mold split surface PS1 that serves as a boundary with the second casting mold (15). The formation surface (14a) forms one lateral surface of the rotational angle detection object, which faces in a circumferential direction. The second casting mold (15) includes a first formation portion (15a) that forms a portion of the rotational angle detection object other than the one lateral surface.
