The generating subsystem extracts geometrical features from an input image, retrieves local image units from the input image according to the geometrical features; as to each local image unit retrieved, searches the sketch database for a local sketch unit corresponding to a local image sample having a largest similarity value with the local image unit, and combines all local sketch units found to form one sketch.
