The cities of 2050 shall be well planned , eco-friendly, save on energy, work on reducing daily travel distances of people, recycle waste water, bring green revolution through plantation to absorb carbon-di-oxide, carry out rain harvesting, decompose organic and human waste and produce much needed bio-gas and electricity and heat through solar energy. It"s assumed that fossil fuels shall be exhausted by that time and transportable energy shall be produced from biomass which shall be too costly. By then world population would cross 9 billion and India 1600 million in population. Projections suggest world"s 2/3 rd population living in cities and 5th Generation Town Planning has to cater for their needs In the city planning proposed here all these considerations taken care of. The residential and utility facilities have been brought closer to save on fuel. Vast roofing areas have been provided for collection of pure rain water and solar rays. There is separate drainage system for roof water, waste water (to be treated and recycled), sewage water which carries human waste to septic tanks fitted with mini-treatment plants to produce bio-gas, fertilizer and electricity. The residential plans proposed bring down housing cost to just half and makes housing very cheap. Cost of housing 1 million is just Rs. 12500 crores only and very much affordable.
