porous plate/pipe sparger, sieve plate, radial sparger, spider sparger, multiple ring sparger. As an ideal sparger it is expected that, pressure drop should be less, "no weep" condition should be satisfied, extent of non-uniformity should be minimum, operational problems like plugging of holes (if solids are present) should be as low as possible, simple to fabricate, and fixed cost should be as low as possible. Hence, a new type of sparger system is developed, called as "Wheel" type of sparger. In this sparger system, a chamber is placed at the center and the sparger pipes are connected to the periphery of this chamber in the form of various layers depending on the requirement. It is also shown that this type of sparger system is most superior sparger as compared to any other type of sparger for any specified case.
