Disclosed is an adrenocoticotropic hormone (ACTH) analog peptide capable of reducing ACTH-induced corticosteroid secretion. The peptide is useful for lowering the corticosteroid levels in a subject suffering from Cushing's syndrome or premature labour in which maternal plasma corticotrophin-releasing hormone levels are elevated.
