ALCALIGENES FAECALIS STRAIN FOR TREATING CARBONACEOUS AND NITROGENOUS WASTEWATER AND CORRESPONDING METHODS THEREOF

Disclosed is an isolated microorganism which is strain CNCM I-3448 of Alcaligenes faecalis or a microorganism derived from the latter, which achieves: i) the conversion of Kjeldahl nitrogen, ammoniacal nitrogen and/or nitrogen oxides to gaseous nitrogen; and ii) the conversion of the carbonaceous matter to carbon dioxide; wherein the two conversions take place under aerobic conditions. Further discloses is the use of the disclosed microorganism for the treatment of wastewater, and methods of treating wastewater thereof.
