This invenu00c7u00c3o aims to optimise the processes of mobility in heterogeneous environments, enhancing the capabilities of the media independent information service (MIIs) by providing dynamic information about resources available in the radio access networks.Consequently, the MMIS provides the mobile terminal access networks existing in its neighbourhood and the available radio resources in the same, thus allowing the mobility of decision algorithms select the access network to the destination more quickly.It is proposed a new mechanism integrated in the MIIs, hereinafter referred to as the MIH update information, with the purpose of conveying up-to-date information to the information server (is) on the resources available in the network.
