According to the invention, the device consists in cutting a slit into the pipe wherein the flow propagates, which achieves the reduction of overpressure or underpressure momentary waves arrived in said place to half of their values, by diverting the flow from the main path of propagation towards a collateral direction along which the deflected wave propagates by keeping its value and sign, returning at a certain moment and place into the main path of the modified wave, in order to be cancelled by the combination with the value of contrary sign thereof, corresponding to said place, but delayed behind by wave half-period.
