TECHNIQUE FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF ALIMENTARY TRACT AFTER RESECTION OF WHOLE STOMACH

A technique for the reconstruction of the alimentary tract after the resection of the whole stomach consists in passing the intestinal loop unfolded isoperistaltically through the mesocolon to the upper division of the abdominal cavity. At the top of the loop, T-shaped cuff is generated with the aid of the interrupted sero-serous sutures. Then the anastomosis is applied between the stump of the esophagus and the efferent part of the loop. The anastomosis and the lower part of the esophagus are wrapped with T-shaped cuff. The efferent part of the intestinal loop is cut, and the anastomosis is applied between the proximal efferent part of the intestinal loop and the stump of the duodenum. The part of the distal efferent loop is connected with the small intestine below Treitz ligament along the transverse cut of the small intestine relative to its axis.
