A method for assessment of interhemispheric asymmetry of bioelectric potentials of the brain comprises the registration of bioelectric potentials, determination of the of interhemispheric asymmetry. By registered biological potentials the differential signal is determined, then the capacity of the differential signal is calculated and a functional state of the brain is diagnosed on values of obtained capacity.
