A method for identifying varieties of the meadow clover (Trifolium pratense L.) by the method of electrophoresis of seed storage proteins of includes grinding the seeds up to the state of flour, stirring thereof with an extracting solution and centrifuging, mixing a transparent supernatant solution (supernatant) with a taking-up solution, preparing a gel, applying the protein extracts thereon, carrying out electrophoresis, staining gel plates, washing out thereof from excessive stain and photographing, identifying varieties. The extracting solution, one litre of which comprises 0.5 M of acetic acid and 2 M of urea, and the withdrawing solution, one litre of which comprises 0.5 M of acetic acid, 9.5 M of urea and 0.005% of pyronin G, are used therein for extracting the proteins. The following reagents are used for preparing the gel: methylenebisacrylamide , acrylamide , acetic acid 1.68 ml, urea , glycine (500 mg per 50 ml of water) 8.4 ml of the solution, ascorbic acid (200 mg per 20 ml of water) 2.8 ml of the solution, ferrous sulphate septahydrate (500 mg per 71.4 ml of water) 1.2 ml of the solution, TEMED 0.12 ml, potassium persulphate (525 mg per 25 ml of water) 1.2 ml of the solution, distillated water up to the final volume of 70 ml, and the electrophoretic buffer is prepared of a mixture of acetic acid 10 ml, glycine , water up to .
