A method for the assessment of the efficacy of Nadolol in the treatment of the ischemic heart disease with stenocardia and the arterial hypertension comprises the comparison of the state of patients prior to and after the therapy. In addition, prior to the treatment the blood (5 mL) is sampled from the cubital vein at the state of the rest, and the rheologic properties are assessed by measuring the viscosity of the blood with the aid of the rotational viscosimeter under various shear force from 0.020 to 8.8 dyne/cm. The same examination is performed after the course of the treatment. When the viscosity of the blood applying the shear force of 0.3 dyne/cmdecreases by 10% as compared with that prior to the treatment, the hemorheologic and antianginal effects of the treatment are regarded as positive.
