METHOD FOR ASSESSING ADAPTATION POTENTIAL OF CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM IN SENESCENCE

A method for assessing the adaptation potential of the cardiovascular system in senescence in experimental animals provides for the use of discontinuous hypobaric hypoxia. The state of nitrogen oxide system and the free-radical oxidation of blood lipids and proteins are then analyzed. The activation of nitrogen oxide synthesis by at least 10 % is suggestive of the sufficient adaptation potential of the cardiovascular system, while the increase of free-radical oxidation of blood lipids and proteins by 20 % relative to age-related normal parameters is indicative of non-sufficient adaptation of the cardiovascular system.
