It is desirable to use the district heating water of the district heating industry for the heating of buildings a t least part of the year. The return water temperature is often c.a. 50 C. If the return water can be used for heating in any area, the average temperature of the return water is lowered back to the heating plant. Since most heating plants have a flue-gas condenser,i s the cooling of the flue-gases at a lower temperature and the recycling of extra heat, which would otherwise have gone into the saturated flue-gases at a higher temperature.The use of return water to satisfy the heating needs of an area is available both in new areas and in existing areas.According to this invention, a satellite-fired heat plant is connected to a appropriate splace in the district heating. An area close to the satellite heater is heated with return water and heat from the satellite is used as a necessary supplement where necessary. The satellite may also produce electricity and some of the electricity may be used for the final heating of the tap water.
