A mixture of hazardous waste for preparation of glass-ceramic materials, in the ambit of a process for treatment of the waste. The mixture comprises at least three hazardous waste materials selected from a group constituted by: A) ACMs - asbestos-containing materials; B) spent calcium and other substances originating from purification plants; C) sludges produced by purification of industrial effluents; D) heavy waste and light ash coming from incinerators and combustion plants; E) drainage slurry from wet-ground contaminants, or from storage plants; F) sludge from restored contaminated terrain; G) hydro-metallurgical sludge; H) metallurgic-process waste; I) glass and television screens, computers, electronic apparatus, glass fibre and glass waste; an overall quantity of hazardous waste contained in the mixture being at least 50% in weight of the mixture. The process comprises for treatment of hazardous waste, comprising stages of: a) preparing a mixture according to the above; b) grinding and/or mixing and fusing the mixture up to formation of a glass; c) heating a vitrified product obtained in the preceding stage b) up to ceramicisation of the vitrified product.
