A method for operating a management network comprising a manager (NMC1,NMC2) and an agent (OMC1), in which the manager and the agent use an object model for intercommunication and by means of this, objects (MOLi, MOLj,k,m) are assigned object classes (MOCj,MOCk, MOCm) and with which the manager sends to the agents a request for information exchange. The manager receives information for the request from the agent and exclusively for the objects and/or alarms, regarding a change since a given time point (t0,t1,t6).
