The sheet material is made from a thin backing layer (18) of a fragile polymer material that breaks cleanly, applied to a laminated product (12) comprising an intermediate supporting layer (14) of Bristol paper, and an upper layer (16) of a printable or photo-sensitive material which is attached to the supporting layer e.g. by a hot-melt adhesive.
