The mattress (2) is designed in such a manner to receive pressure cloths or sheets, which are rollable during rolling of the mattress. Side edges of the mattress are respectively provided with upwardly protruding beads (6), where each bead is extended in a downward manner. A rod is connected to an end of the mattress, where ends of the rod are placed in inner retaining strips (8) of lateral flanges, respectively. The flanges are arranged in an area of a head end of a reclining piece of furniture.
