The internal-combustion engine has an inlet system (2) with a compressor (5) propelled by an exhaust-gas turbine (4) and an outlet system (3) with an exhaust re-conducting system (13). A compressed air tank (10) is provided, which is flow connected over a separate extraction valve (26) with a work space of a cylinder (21), where extraction valve is a stroke valve arranged into the work space to open inlet and exhaust valves. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating internal-combustion engine.
