A method for producing and maintaining the hovering and carrying capacity of two or more operatively connected aerostats (7, 8, 9), in which heated air, or gas as the lifting gas, supplied from a warming/heating apparatus through a conduit brings about the buoyancy force, the positions of the aerostats being fixed by supporting, spacing and anchoring connections (20, 21) and the buoyancy force in the aerostats also being used to stabilize the apparatus, characterized in that the same heated air or gas(es) is conducted through the conduit (2) into a first aerostat envelope (7), from where it is introduced into a second one through the conduit (2) and optionally is conducted into and out of further aerostat envelopes, acting in all of said envelopes as a buoyancy force, wherein the respective buoyancy force in the case of two or more aerostats contributes to the total buoyancy force by way of carrier cables (18).
