A process characterized hair cosmetic treatment comprising: a) a non-reducing step of activation of the hair, which is a step of chemical or physical and chemical activation consisting chemical activation in applying to the hair at least one compound capable of activating hair not reductively and selected from the polyalkyleneimine and its derivatives, polyalkylamines, polylysines, polyallylamines, polyglutamines, hyperbranched polymers, dendrimers with amine ends and derivatives thereof, natural or modified polysaccharides, and b) a step consisting in applying to the hair activated at least one cosmetically active compound capable of forming at least one covalent bond with activated by one or more functions of the compound hair.
