A method for preparing a peptide with Ac-WQEWEQKITALLEQAQIQQEKNEYELQKLDK WASLWEWF-NH2 (SEQ ID NO..: 1) sequence comprising the steps of: (a) providing a support resin for solid phase synthesis with the formula: ZE - [SUP], wherein [SUP] is the support resin, E is a glutamic acid residue, and Z is the protecting group NH 2 -terminal, and wherein ZE is present in [SUP] at a factor loading of 0.5 or less; (B) coupling amino acids to ZE [SUP] to provide Z-WQEWEQKITALLEQAQIQQE- [SUP]; (C) treating Z-WQEWEQKITALLEQAQIQQE- [SUP] to provide a cleavage product Ac-WQEWEQKI TALLEQAQIQQE-OH (SEQ ID NO:.. 2); and (d) using Ac-WQEWEQKITALLEQAQIQQE-OH (SEQ ID NO:.. 2) for the synthesis of Ac-WQEWEQKITA LLEQAQIQQEKNEYELQ-KLDKWASLWEWF-NH 2 (SEQ ID NO:.. 1).
