Method for obtaining kinetic measurements during a binding assay, which comprises the following steps: (i) putting a target molecule in contact with its affinity partner to form a binding complex, the target molecule being immobilized on a magnetic particle and being immobilized the affinity pair on a support material; and (ii) determine the number of magnetic particles complexed during the test, exposing the complex to a magnetic field at regular time intervals during the test and measuring the difference in the resonant frequency of a tuned circuit when the complex is exposed to the magnetic field and when it is not exposed.
