Isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a polynucleotide sequence that has at least 95% sequence identity with: (a) a DNA molecule encoding a PRO286 polypeptide having amino acid residues of 27 to 825 of the figure 1 (SEQ ID NO: 3) in which the polypeptide has the ability to induce the activation of NF-κB, or the complement of the DNA molecule; or (b) a DNA molecule that encodes the same mature polypeptide encoded by the Toll-like human protein cDNA in ATCC No. 209386 (DNA42663-1154), in which the polypeptide has the ability to induce the activation of NF-κB, or the complement of the DNA molecule.
