The invention relates to an immunogenic composition, characterized in that it comprises a protein adenylcyclase-hemolysin (AC-Hly) or an immunogenic part of this AC-Hly, a Bordetella strain selected from B. pertussis, B. parapertussis or B. bronchiseptica and in that it further comprises a bacterial extract containing the expression products of vrq genes of a Bordetella strain selected from B. pertussis, B. parapertussis or B. bronchiseptica or a part thereof sufficient to induce an immune response in a host to which the extract would be administered.
